Our tutors are supporting classroom learning throughout Northamptonshire.

Shires Tutors was formed by a small group of school teachers working in Northamptonshire’s schools. We have the experience and working knowledge to support your child’s school lessons, from the key stages and SATs through to GCSE and A-Levels.

We’ll look beyond A Levels – our support can make all the difference to an application for an apprenticeship or University place.

How can we help?

Our tutors cover primary and secondary school ages from year five to thirteen including SATs, GCSE and A Level.

Who are our tutors?

We’re a small group of secondary school teachers who came together nine years ago. Home tuition is in addition to our teaching.

Why can we support you?

Many of us are parents ourselves and online searches for a tutor seemed disappointing. The best support is by experienced teachers.

What are our goals?

We aim to provide tuition in a safe environment and at a reasonable cost. Our local knowledge fits around the school’s teaching.

How much is a tutor?

We want to keep it affordable. Group tuition can divide the cost or tuition can target key times – perhaps every second week or before exams.

Where can you find us?

You’ll find us teaching throughout Northamptonshire including Kettering and Wellingborough. We’re also found in Welford, Brixworth and Mawsley.

There is no doubt a tutor can help support your child’s classroom learning. A Level and GCSE are crucial steps in a child’s academic progress but, at Shires Tutors, we don’t just teach to the exam but also aim to build your child’s confidence. They’ll take this belief back into the classroom with them where faster progress can be made.
